Concerned residents of Ng’onga in Balaka have continued their protests at the Balaka District Council offices, demanding the removal of District Commissioner (DC) Tamanya Harawa.

The residents accuse Harawa of failing to ensure justice in a dispute over their land, which was taken and is now being used by Portland Cement Company.

They are also demanding compensation for the land, saying they will not leave the council premises until their concerns are addressed and the DC is transferred.

The group has vowed to continue protesting until the Ministry of Local Government intervenes in the matter.
