The Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) has dismissed circulating social media reports suggesting that the bank plans to introduce a K10,000 banknote.

In a statement released on its official Facebook page, RBM clarified that it has no such plans and labeled the reports as false and misleading.

“We urge Malawians to verify information from credible sources before believing or sharing it. The claims about the new banknote are baseless,” the bank satated.

The RBM has since advised the public to remain cautious about unverified news spreading online.
