
Government Gears Up for Tropical Storm Jude Response

The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) says it has activated all disaster clusters at national and district level to effectively respond to Tropical Storm Jude.
DoDMA’s Principal Information Management Officer Chipiliro Khamula says food and non-food items have also been prepositioned.
He said arrangements have also been made to deploy search and rescue teams.
On Saturday, the Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services warned that the storm that has developed in the Indian Ocean is likely going to influence rainfall in almost the whole southern region of Malawi.
The rains according to the forecast will be accompanied by damaging winds which will trigger floods in the region by Monday.
