Ras Chikomeni Begins Big Walk to Raise K10 Million for Election Bid

Ras David Chikomeni Chirwa has embarked on a big walk in Lilongwe today to raise the K10 million required for candidates to contest in the upcoming election.
Chikomeni is walking alongside his running mate for the September 16, 2025, election.
In 2019, he was disqualified by the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) after failing to pay the K2 million nomination fee for presidential candidates.
This year, the fee has increased from K2 million to K10 million. General elections are due to be held on September 16, 2025
