Lilongwe Court to Deliver Ruling on Bushiri Extradition Case Today

The Chief Resident Magistrate’s Court in Lilongwe is expected to make a crucial ruling today on whether Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Mary, should be extradited to South Africa.
The couple fled South Africa in November 2020 while facing allegations of financial crimes. The South African government has since been pushing for their return to face trial.
The ruling could either order their extradition or grant them freedom. However, any aggrieved party will have the right to appeal the decision.
