The Chief Resident Magistrate, Madalitso Chimwaza, has ruled that Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Prophetess Mary Bushiri, be extradited to South Africa to face financial and rape charges.

Initially, the court ordered that the couple be jailed while awaiting handover to South African authorities. However, Chimwaza has now granted a 30-day stay of the ruling to allow Bushiri to appeal the decision to the High Court.

According to Chimwaza, the issue of bail will be determined by the High Court, meaning the couple will not be sent to prison while the appeal process is ongoing.

Meanwhile, the defense team has confirmed that they will proceed with the appeal.
