Police Arrest Four In Balaka Protests

Information reaching this publication indicates that police in Balaka have arrested four people in connection with a protest in Ng’onga.
Earlier today, police blocked the road leading to Portland Construction Company and used tear gas to disperse the protesters, who had also blocked the same road yesterday.
Residents of Ng’onga accuse Portland Construction Company of cheating them by providing insufficient compensation for their land, where the company is constructing a cement factory.
As of now, the site is heavily guarded by security personnel.
