Police have confirmed the arrest of Alfred Gangata, the Vice President of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for the Central Region.
National police spokesperson Peter Kalaya has confirmed the arrest and said Gangata has been arrested for allegedly using a fraudulent MSCE certificate.
According to Kalaya, investigations revealed that Gangata never attended Chitowo CDSS in Dedza, the school listed on his 2018 MSCE certificate.
Police are currently finalizing his case, and he is expected to appear in court either today or tomorrow morning.
Kalaya also hinted that more arrests could follow as police continue investigating the matter.
