Malawian hip-hop artist IKK has released a highly anticipated music video for the remix of “Ndabweranso” yesterday on March 19, 2025.
The original song, which featured Mafo last year, now includes a mix of legendary and rising hip-hop artists in Malawi. IKK thou it wise to bring back old-school rappers like The Dare Devilz, Barry Uno, Diktator, Hyphen, Blakjak, and Isu, while also featuring new-school artists like Base Cube and Bee Jay.
The rapper revealed that he spent K20 million on the video, which features a private jet and luxury cars to enhance its production value.
“Some people laughed at the models I used in the original ‘Ndabweranso’ video with Mafo. Now, I’ve dropped the remix, and this time, the budget was MK20 million. I hope you won’t laugh at me now,” IKK wrote in a social media post.
Malawian hip-hop fans are already celebrating the song’s release, hoping it will revive the genre, which has been overshadowed by Amapiano and Afrobeats in recent years.
