Police in Chikwawa have arrested three men suspected of stealing goods worth K2 million from two vehicles traveling in the district.
According to Chikwawa Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Chancy Mfune, the suspects are James Damiano (20), Mphatso Samson (25), and Abel Benson (24).
Reports indicate that on March 5, 2025, the suspects allegedly hurled stones at two moving vehicles to disrupt the drivers before stealing various goods and fleeing the scene.
Following the incident, a report was filed at Chikwawa Police Station, prompting an investigation that led to the arrest of the three suspects. Police are still pursuing other individuals believed to have been involved in the crime.
The suspects, who hail from Kajawo and Chapasuka villages under Senior Chief Mlilima, will soon appear in court to answer charges related to the robbery.
