Police in Luchenza, Thyolo, are hunting for unknown assailants who have assaulted to death a 59-year-old local farmer, identified as Vitu Mulipa.

The station’s publicist, Constable Douglas Museu, said Mulipa was found dead in the early hours of February 26, 2025, near a sugarcane garden in Miliwadi Village, Traditional Authority Nanseta in the district.

Museu stated that on February 25, 2025, Mulipa, who was staying alone, left home early in the morning for his garden, where he was harvesting maize and worked the whole day but never returned home.

The following day, his body was found, and postmortem results from Mangunda Health Centre indicated that death was due to loss of blood from multiple wounds on the head and both eyes.
