DPP National Youth Director, Honourable Norman Chisale, is leading DPP youths at the Area 3 Magistrate Court in Lilongwe, where social media activist and whistleblower Julius Mithi is appearing for his bail application and ruling.

Mithi was arrested by Yolam’s “MCP Police” after exposing alleged rigging attempts by the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC). His revelations pointed to the disappearance of one million registered voter names from the voters’ roll—an issue MEC itself acknowledged. Among the missing names was that of MEC Commissioner Francis Kasaila, whose details were found missing during the verification and transfer process in Nsanje District.

The case has sparked widespread debate, with many questioning the integrity of the electoral process and the motive behind Mithi’s arrest.

Rev. Maurice Munthali, Spokesperson of AFORD is also in attendance.
