Police in Chiradzulu have arrested three men on suspicion of murdering Paul Pulundwe and stealing his mobile phone worth K37,000.

According to Chiradzulu Police spokesperson Cosmas Kagulo, the three suspects are Kondwani Banuli (26), Bamusi Kalata (21), and Ben Kasekwe (21), all from Chalamanda Village under Traditional Authority Mpunga in Chiradzulu.

The tragic incident came to light when Pulundwe’s wife, along with other villagers, discovered his lifeless body near their farmland on a Saturday evening. Pulundwe had reportedly gone to inspect his crops when he met his fate.

During police questioning, the suspects admitted to killing Pulundwe, claiming they did so after catching him attempting to steal a goat from a nearby field. Pulundwe was from Imedi Village within the same district.

The arrest of the three men has sparked outrage and grief among the local community, as people struggle to come to terms with the violent act. Police are continuing their investigations, and the suspects are expected to appear in court soon to answer to charges related to murder and robbery.
