The object that fell on Friday in the Malimbalimba area of Karonga District has been confirmed to be harmless.
The district police chief, Kelvin Mulezo, confirmed the incident.

He said experts from Lilongwe arrived at the site, photographed the object, and confirmed that it would not explode again.

“The experts have taken the metal to Lilongwe for further examination,” Mulezo said.

The metal object, which sounded like a bomb, fell in the Malimbalimba area, Kyungu Chiefdom, Karonga District.
