As preparations intensify for the 2025 International Tourism Expo, Malawi is positioning itself as a must visit destination in Africa, with the event set to showcase the country’s growing tourism potential.
Minister of Tourism Vera Kamtukule, emphasized the crucial role tourism plays in Malawi’s economic and cultural development. She noted that this year’s expo, scheduled for April 24 to 26 in Lilongwe, offers a timely opportunity to highlight Malawi’s rich natural beauty, cultural heritage, and hospitality.
The theme for this year’s expo, “Solidifying the Gains”, reflects the progress the tourism sector has made in recent years.
Minister Kamtukule stressed that the focus now is on reinforcing these achievements to build a sustainable and competitive tourism industry.
“This expo is more than just an event, it’s a platform to tell Malawi’s story to the world,” Kamtukule said.
This tourism Expo is about cementing our place as a leading tourism destination in the region.
