AFORD denies rumors of Mtambo’s resignation

The Alliance For Democracy (AFORD) has denied rumors that its vice president, Honorable. Timothy Mtambo has resigned. In a statement released on April 10, 2025, signed by the party’s publicity secretary, Annie Amatulla Maluwa state that the claims  are false and were made to damage the party’s image.

The party said Mtambo has not resigned and that he still has a strong working relationship with AFORD president Enock Chihana. They believe the false news is being spread by people who want to divide the party more especially members of Malawi Congress Party(MCP).

The party said it values honesty and transparency and asked people to ignore the false information.

AFORD assured the public that its leadership is united and continues to focus on building a better Malawi
