The body of 16-year-old MacFriday Mmadi, a Maranatha Boys Academy student, has been taken from Mthunzi Funeral Home to Balaka, where he will be laid to rest today.
Mmadi died in a road accident on Tuesday evening along the John Chilembwe Highway in Chiradzulu, as he was heading home after school closed. Two others—minibus driver Ishmael Siyabu and Pastor Mwinjiwawo Nakanga—also died in the crash.
Police say the accident occurred when a Toyota Hilux swerved to avoid a pothole and collided with a minibus coming from the opposite direction.
