Police in Mwanza have arrested three suspects, including two minors, for allegedly breaking into the district council’s communications office and stealing computer equipment.

The suspects, identified as two juveniles aged 15 and 16, and 18-year-old Yohane Steven, were apprehended following a tip-off from community members.

Police spokesperson Hope Kasakula confirmed the arrests, stating that the trio is believed to be part of a group involved in multiple theft cases across the district.

“The suspects broke into the office and stole computer equipment used for communications,” Kasakula said. “We have been tracking their activities for some time.”

The suspects, all from Mchotseni Village under Traditional Authority Kanduku, are expected to appear in court soon to face charges of breaking and entering, as well as theft.

Authorities have commended the community for their vigilance in reporting suspicious activities, which led to the arrests.
