The Senior Resident Magistrate Court in Mangochi is set to deliver its judgment tomorrow in the case involving Mangochi based musician Abdul Karim Saidi, popularly known as Bandera Wachiyao
This follows the court’s earlier ruling finding Bandera guilty of unlawfully harboring a 14-year-old girl without consent, an offense contrary to Section 136 of the country’s laws.
The court also dismissed an additional charge of alleged defilement of the minor, citing insufficient evidence presented by the prosecution.
Bandera was arrested on January 3 this year after the girl’s parents reported her disappearance to the police.
The verdict, expected tomorrow, will determine the legal consequences for the convict in a case that has drawn public attention.
