Body of Missing 18-Year-Old Found in Lake Malawi

An 18-year-old boy, Golden Banda, has drowned in Lake Malawi in Nkhotakota District.
According to Nkhunga Police spokesperson Andrew Kamanga, they received a report on April 9 that Banda had gone missing after leaving for fishing in Luluzi, Nkhata Bay District, on April 2.
A family member, Robert Chijura, told police they were surprised when Banda’s body was found in the water at Ngala Port, where he had started his journey to Nkhata Bay.
“We found the body badly decomposed, and the hospital confirmed that the cause of death was suffocation,” said Kamanga.
The deceased was from Malenganzoma Village, Nkhata Bay District.
