Atleast 35 needy students at the University of Livingstonia’s Laws campus in Rumphi are on the verge of dropping out due to inability to pay tuition fees.
One of the students pursuing Public Health studies at the institution, Legson Zakaliya has told media today that the situation is affecting their performance, hence calling for assistance from well-wishers.
Zakaliya says due to financial constraints, some students are thinking of withdrawing from the University.
Students Union President, Innocent Kalesi Gondwe says during a fundraising launch held on March 29 this year, they only managed to raise about K2.1 million against the targeted K70 million which is not enough to cater for all the 35 students.
