The Nkhotakota First Grade Magistrate’s Court has sentenced 18 year-old Kingsley Banda to 10 years imprisonment for breaking and theft offences.

Nkhotakota Police deputy public relations officer Chisomo Chuma, explained that during the morning of February 25, 2025, the Banda forced his way into the shop of Innocent Jailosi and went away with an Itel phone and assorted groceries worth K170, 000.00.

He was arrested after the matter was reported to Benga Police Unit. Chuma said: “Appearing before court, Kingsley Banda pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him prompting the state to parade witnesses who secured his conviction.”

Kingsley Banda comes from Sagwirika village in the area of Traditional Authority Mwadzama in Nkhotakota.
