Kasungu Police Nab Two for Killing Business Magnate, Two Accomplices on the Run

Police in Kasungu have arrested two men, Mavuto Nyirenda, 29, and Mathews Maxwell, 27, on suspicion of murdering business magnate Pemphero Nkhata and robbing him of over K7 million.
The police spokesperson in the district, Joseph Kachikho, confirmed the incident, stating that the suspects committed the crime at the business premises of Kamboni Chief Kawamba in the district.
“The suspect used a stick to beat and kill Nkhata,” said Kachikho.
According to Kachikho, the suspects had two accomplices, Lawrence Kasawala and Josiya Brighton Timote, who managed to escape and are currently being sought.
Nyirenda, who hails from Kayimba Village, and Maxwell, from Kamboni Chief Kawamba Village in Kasungu District, will appear in court soon.
