The producers of the film “Welcome to Maula Prison” from 4Kaya Films have issued a statement regarding the arrest of one of their cast members, Tumpe Mtaya (Phwedo).

In the statement signed by Kendall Kamwendo, the filmmakers express concern over the matter and emphasize their commitment to operating within the bounds of the law.

They have chosen to let the relevant authorities handle the investigation, which is already underway, and will refrain from commenting further until the legal process is concluded.

Despite the ongoing controversy, the filmmakers have announced that the film’s premiere will proceed as scheduled on May 2.
