Chileka Police Seize 14 Motorbikes in Crackdown on Illegal Operations

Chileka Police in Blantyre have impounded 14 motorbikes for various offences, including transporting forest produce without a license, and operating unregistered motorcycle, among others.

According to Chileka Police Station public relations officer Jonathan Phillipo, the operation was initiated between April 27th and 28th, at Chatha and Ngumbe areas.

“The exercise led to the booking of motorcycle operators with various offences and confiscation of 14 unregistered motorbikes.

“The operation demonstrates the police’s effort to maintaining law and order, ensuring public safety, environmental protection and deterring potential offenders,” he said.

Philllipo said the suspects will appear before court soon to answer charges leveled against them.
