Nkhatabay Man Pays K50,000 Fine Over Illegal Sell of Fuel

A 37-year-old in man in Nkhatabay who was found guilty for illegal sell of fuel has been fined K50, 000.

The convict identified as Ali Kumpelembe was caught on November 20 with 20 litre gallons of diesel and petrol.

In court, he was placed against an offence of storing liquid fuel in buildings contrary to sections 99(1) and 133(1) of Liquid Fuel Act and Gas Regulations Act respectively.

After being found guilty, First Grade Magistrate Anthony Banda of Nkhatabay First Grade Magistrate Court fined the man K50, 000 in default of 12 months jail sentence.

The convict managed to pay the said fine.

He comes from Muzaule village in the Area of Traditional Authority Bibi Kulundu in Salima.
