Former People’s Party (PP) Vice President for South Brown Mpinganjira and the then Minister of Finance and Economic Development Ken Lipenga have joined the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

The two together with the then Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs under late Bingu wa Mutharika, Henry Phoya and Reverend and Reverend Daniel Gunya, were welcomed by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika at a rally held at Lunzu Catholic Parish ground.

Speaking on behalf of the four new members, Mpinganjira said they have decided to join DPP to help Mutharika in fulfilling development projects.

He said they will do whatether they can to help Mutharika to win the 2019 tripartite election with landslide victory.

Lipenga along with Phoya ditched the DPP in 2012 after the death of Bingu wa Mutharika.

Meanwhile analysts have described the move by the four recycled politicians as meaningless.
