Football Kenya Federation(FKF) have been put under a red alert by Fifa ahead of this weekend’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Malawi.

FKF have been instructed to ensure adequate security is put in place and fans violence or disorder will lead to the country being banned from hosting any match locally.

Fifa had earlier sanctioned Kenya and given stern warnings on future crowd trouble in the stadium. Last year, Nyayo National Stadium was banned with the world soccer governing body overturning the decision after appeal.

“We have very important security measures to undertake as we prepare to host Malawi since Fifa has warned that in case of any fan trouble, then we will be banned from hosting any international match in Kenya.”

“Fifa’s security committee is also privy of threats from Somali Al Shabaab insurgents and so we have to take necessary precautions to avert any possible threat “Technical Director Patrick Naggi told SuperSport.
