President Peter Mutharika has, this afternoon, left for United Kingdom where he will attend the Commonwealth heads of government meeting.

Briefing reporters at the airport, President Mutharika said there are a lot of crucial issues to be discussed and agreements to be signed on behalf of Malawians, hence his decision to attend the meeting in person instead of delegating the vice president or a cabinet minister.

Seeing off President Mutharika at the Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe was vice president Saulos Chilima, cabinet ministers, government and other party officials.
