Information sourced by faceofmalawi indicates that vendors in the country a selling embalmed fish to consumers.

This has been revealed after a person identified as Captain Charles Massi complained to the Malawi Bureau of Standard (MBS) about the fish he bought in Lilongwe city.

MBS officials confirmed of the development in a statement released on Wednesday made available to faceofmalawi reporter.

According to the bureau, unknown vendors sold fish to Massi containing “Formaldehyde” a dangerous chemical drug used in embalming dead bodies.

The bureau said the vendors used the chemical to preserve the fish sold to Massi.

Meanwhile MBS has launched a manhunt for the unknown vendors.
