Blantyre City Mayor councilors Wild Ndipo says he has a number of programs whose aim is to make sure that the city should look clean.

For instance he said they are engaging the youth in revamping parks to make them to be vibrant adding that they are also making by passes from Chigumula to Mpemba up to Matindi in third phase to decongest the city.

“ We also want construct other roads, in it also pleasing to see that people are now taking part in development through the development committees in all the 23 wards and we are also putting street rights as one way of combating crime,” he said.

Ndipo said all this is happening because there is union because they are moving as one and people are able to understand that the city belongs to them.
He also said this is because of their motto which is ‘taking back the city to people’.

“We are also collecting wastes around all townships to make sure that all townships should look clean and free of diseases like cholera,” he said.

He said that he will stand as councilor again in 2019 tripartite elections under Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) ticket and is ready to continue to work as a Mayor if it pleases people because leadership comes from God.
