A 38- year-old woman, Adija Malijani, from Mzumara Village in the area of Traditional Authority Nyanja in Kasungu died on Tuesday after being hit by a pedal cyclist.
According to Kasungu Police Public Relations Officer, Edina Mzingwitsa, the deceased was trying to cross the road at a place known as Chitukuko Cha M’matauni junction off Nkhotakota-Kasungu M18 road where she was hit by the cyclist.
“The deceased was crossing the road on Tuesday evening where a cyclist identified as Yamikani Banjani (20) hit her off.
“She was rushed to Kasungu District Hospital where she died due to bruises and internal injuries,” she said.
Banjani hailed from Chinkhanje Village, Traditional Authority Chulu in the district.
