This year’s International Youth Day promises to be an exciting event if the preparatory activities and celebrations are to go by.
Prior to this year’s celebrations, there has been a series of events rolling out in various districts in preparation for the main International Youth Day which will take place on the 23rd August, 2018 at Bangwe Youth Centre in Blantyre.
Chief among these preparatory activities was the Public forum which took place at Lilongwe Hotel on the 15th of August 2018. The public forum was aired live on Times Radio.
Themed “Safe Spaces for youth: A key to fostering effective successful and meaningful youth participation,” the panel discussion brought together young people and representatives from MAIKHANDA Trust, SAT Malawi, HP+ ,Save the Children International and MHUB.
The forum also provided an opportunity to listeners to text in their opinions and views on the discussion.
Some of the pre-IYD 2018 activities that have taken place include; a Youth Day at the the Bingu National Stadium(BNS) on the 11th of August and a talk show at Mzuzu E.HUB on the 12th of August.
