Over twenty positions are yet to be filled at the national indaba for Umodzi Party which is scheduled to be held in the commercial city of Blantyre by the end of this month.

Deputy Publicity Secretary for the party Sadana Tamanda Bakili disclosed this to face of Malawi in an interview.

She said more people have already shown interest to compete for various positions at the national indaba.

“So far everything is set, more people are coming and we are encouraging more women to come because the party also believes in women empowerment,” she said.

Bakili said they expect delegates from all over Malawi because the party has strong structures across the country.

She also dismissed claims by other people that the leadership of the party Professor John Chisi is barring other people from competing for other positions saying this is not true because the party believes in principles of democracy.

Those that are saying this are disgruntled people who do not wish the party well and they do not anything about the constitution of the party.
