A 27-year-old Malawi police officer has been found dead in his house in Ntcheu district on Saturday around 1900hrs.

The officer has been identified as Constable Charles Ndalama who was working at Ntcheu Police Station.

On that day, the officer’s landlord identified as Mr Hamilton Goli knocked the deceased house as he wanted to discuss with him on other issues but he did not get a reply.

After knocking for several times without a reply, he decided to enter the house but he was shocked to have seen the officer lying dead on his bed without police uniform attire.

He rushed to inform others and the matter was reported to police. Police and medical personnel visited the scene and took the body to Ntcheu district hospital for a postmortem which was yet to establish the cause of the death.

The deceased officer hailed from Eneya village in the area of traditional authority Kwataine in Ntcheu district.
