A 22-year-old man in northern district of Rumphi has died a sudden death after falling from a tree.

The deceased has been identified as Misheck Mkandawire who met his fate on 25th September at around 0700hrs.

The father to the deceased, Mr James Mkandawire aged 55 reported that during that day, his son went to the river bank with an intention to cut a tree.

While in the process, he fell down from the tree and hit a stone with his head and died on the spot.

Police and medical personnel visited the scene and took the body for a postmortem that revealed the death was due to severe head injury.

Misheck hailed from Nyasulu village in the area of traditional authority Mwankhunikira in the district.
