Reverend Chimwemwe Mhango of Redeemed Presbyterian Church (RPC) has been asked to appear at Lingadzi Police Station in the capital Lilongwe this morning.
Reason for his summon to the police is not yet known.
Unconfirmed reports indicates that the summon is linked to rumours that he was going out with a married woman in his church.
Mhango broke away from Livingstonia Synod of the CCAP Church last year after refusing to be transferred to Euthini in Mzimba and he formed his own church.
