A 77-year-old man in Chikwawa has died after falling on his back, soon after quarreling with his wife.
The man, Finiasi Logasiano-Chikapuma, died on Saturday at Mulangeni Village in Traditional Authority Ndakwera in the district.
According to the district’s police PRO, Foster Benjamin the incident happened when the deceased was in a drunk state.
“The deceased came home drunk. In a fit of jealousy, he accused his wife, Agnes, of seeing other men when he went out drinking.
“A fierce argument erupted afterwards. The husband tried to force the wife into the house so as to settle their dispute within their bedroom.
“Agnes protested, apparently afraid of her husband’s blows,” explained the PRO.
But in the midst of arguing, Logasiano-Chikapuma lost balance and fell backwards, landing on his head.
Some well-wishers aided him first but to no avail.
According to an autopsy, the man died due to head injuries.
Logasiano-Chikapuma hailed from Mulangeni Village in the area of T/A Ndakwela in Chikwawa District.
