As the country pushes for innovation, education, science and technology, two students from The Polytechnic, a constituent college of the University of Malawi (Unima) have developed a health friendly mosquito killing Machine  called Mosqui Killer.

The students Clement Misomali and Hope Kelvin Chilunga are in their final year studying Bachelors of Science in Electronics and Computer Engineering under the Department of Electrical Engineering.

According to sources, the idea came up when Misomali developed side effects after using a mosquito net as he could not afford to buy a mosquito repellent.

The development comes barely days after President Peter Mutharika called on mindset change to stop thinking negatively during the 2018 Unima Graduation Ceremony at Chancellor College in Zomba.

And also weeks ago, Malawi hosted the 2018 Extraordinary Meeting of the 10 Heads of States championing innovation, education, science and technology under African Union Agenda 2063.
