A 53 year old woman in Kitwe is nursing injuries at Kitwe Teaching Hospital after surviving a crocodile attack.
Monica Chulu was attacked by a crocodile on the Kafue River at Mufuchani Bridge as she was washing her clothes.
She explained from her hospital bed that she was a few meters away from the river before the reptile attacked and pulled her in the river.
Chulu said that she managed to hold to a nearby canoe while she fought for her life and screamed for help.
She said her brother who was nearby came to her rescue and fended off the reptile.
And Kitwe Teaching Hospital authorities have described Chulu’s condition as stable.
