Man stabs girlfriend in Mzuzu

Police in Mzuzu have arrested Kelas Ulemu, 24, of Yazunguluka Village in the area of Traditional Authority (TA) Mthwalo in Mzimba District for allegedly stubbing and wounding his girlfriend.
Mzuzu Police Station Public Relation Officer (PRO), Inspector Edith Kachotsa said the suspect and his girlfriend, Patricia Kaunda, 25, on Sunday had a discussion of their affair in Ulemu’s house.
“Disagreement arose in the course of their discussion and Ulemu ended up stubbing Kaunda in the stomach only to be rescued later by neighbours came after her screaming for help,’’ she said.
Kachotsa said the matter was reported to Police and Ulemu was arrested.
She said Kaunda is admitted at Mzuzu Central Hospital for medication.
“Ulemu will soon appear before court to answer a charge of unlawful wounding,” PRO added.
