Independent Aspirant Councilor for Naotcha ward has said he is optimistic to win in the forth coming tripartite elections because of his developmental vision and conscious.
Speaking in an interview, Magareta said people in the community have trusted him for his manifesto for change saying at the moment the ward is lacking behind in development.
“This is not my first time to contest as a councilor. I once contested in 2004 under UDF ticket and I came second but I will carry the day. So because of that I will develop the ward,” he said.
He cited that once voted into power he will bring more development like construction of concrete bridges, construction of tarmac road network infrastructure, rehabilitating Naotcha Primary school which is not in good change at the moment and buy desks in the blocks where pupils sit on the floor.
“I am a citizen of Chilobwe and most of the time we have voted people who have just come. So with my coming as a developmental councilor things will automatically change,” he said, adding that other township like Chitawira, Ndirande, Chimwankhunda are much better than Chilobwe in terms of development.
Magareta also said he is going to make sure that those people who benefit from fertilizer and Malata subsidies are real beneficiaries not rich people.
He also said he dumped UDF and stand on an Independent ticket because Bakili Muluzi’s Administration disappointed him after having an alliance with John Tembo of MCP – a party that was voted out by Malawians ending one party system.
