Peoples Party (PP) leader Joyce Banda said chiefs are an important tool towards an attainment of socio-economic transformation.
Banda was speaking at Chizungu school ground in Mzimba where she addressed a political rally campaigning for Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
In her remarks Banda said she is committed to work with chiefs in order to achieve decent life for all people in various communities.
“I will be working with chiefs in our projects, we will establish smart villages for all,” Banda said.
She further emphasized on her plans in achieving her goal in promoting and improving lives of women in rural areas.
Banda further pledged full support to women who venture into business activities saying it is her ambition to uplift their socio-economic status.
“I have achieved a lot through business hence I can comfortably say I am a living example of what business can do to a person’s life,” Stressed Banda.
Campaigning for MCP, Banda said Lazarus Chakwera is a God fearing man who has all it takes to lead the country.
“Chakwera has all it takes to lead this country,” she said.
She further asked people of Mzimba Hora constituency to vote for PP shadow Member of Parliament Youngson Chilinda and Chakwera for presidency.
