The office of the Ombudsman has managed to source sanitary kits to aid women and girls in flood camps.

A recent human rights monitoring visit to various camps in Chikwawa and Nsanje districts revealed that women and girls lack menstruation pads.

The situation is forcing them to spend their day at the river in a quest to improve their menstrual hygiene.

Thousands of people are living in evacuation camps after being affected by floods last month, mostly in the southern region.
