Government has rebuffed claims that it is politicizing the distribution of relief items to hunger stricken households.
The remarks were made by Minister of Agriculture Joseph Mwananveka.
Mwananveka said people who are benefiting from the relief items are not politicians therefore the claims are pointless.
He added that government is very much aware that these claims are being made by some opposition political parties.
“We know that some political parties are finding faults in every intervention government is undertaking in assisting people starving following effects of the devastating floods,” Mwananveka said.
He has since challenged stakeholders involved in the distribution of farm inputs to ensure that they are distributing seeds that will germinate to avoid duping the beneficiaries.
