Malawi Prison Services’ warders have called off the strike they scheduled to start today.

Prison warders in the country threatened a nationwide strike to force government to promote them.

The past weeks Government employed over 20, 000 teachers and 7, 000 police officers.

Following this development, Prison warders felt to be sidelined by the government, threatened to strike.

The officers called off their decision following the announcement made by Homeland Security Ministry that it will promote some of them by the end of this week.
