Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) on May 2 will conduct a dry test for election results management system.

MEC spokesperson Sangwani Mwafulirwa confirmed the exercise.

Mwafulirwa said during the exercise, MEC will place staff and equipment in all constituency tally centers and also set up a testing main tally center in Blantyre.

He added that the staff will be given sample results to conduct the exercise.

“The polling equipment staff will be given sample results to be used for the purpose of the test transmission from the constituency tally centers to the main tally center in Blantyre,” he said.

He further added that the issue to do with congestion over the network will also be critically assessed during the exercise. k
