President Peter Mutharika has vowed never to let Malawi Congress Party (MCP) back in government, saying it has failed policies.

Mutharika said the remarks as he is campaigning for his Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in the central region.

Mutharika who is one of the presidential candidates in the May 21 polls is determined of maintaining his position as the president of the country even after the polls.

He further said that MCP and other opposition parties will not make it into government as long as he is alive.

“Us in DPP we will continue with our development,” said Mutharika.

MCP has been on Mutharika’s administration since 2014 until United Transformation Movement (UTM) added the pressure on Mutharika’s administration.
