Malawi energy minister Dr Cassim Chilumpha shakes the hand of Gezhouba Group International Vice President Yang Yisheng on Thursday after the two signed an agreement to build a coal fired plant.

The plant estimated to cost about $500 million, if completed will generate 1,000 megawatts of electricity a day. This could be the answer to Malawians electricity woes which have led to industries losing around $215 million in output.
