Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Shadow Member of Parliament for Chikwawa Nkombedzi Constituency, Abida Mia who is also a wife to the party’s running mated Sidik Mia said she is confident of winning next week’s tripartite polls.

Abida Mia made the remarks as she donated a motorcycle ambulance, blanket and bed sheets at Chipwaila health center in Chikwawa.

In her remarks Abida Mia said MCP hopeful leader Lazarus Chakwera will carry the day on May 21 as the country’s president on the other hand citing that she will be a legislator for the area.

“I think our MCP messages have resonated well across the country and I am double sure about this in my constituency. I am therefore confident that Malawians will make Dr. Lazarus Chakwera their 6th president next month,” she said.

She said her concern to donate the items came following the increased cases of women dying at home or on the road when giving birth due to lack of transport.

“I am devastated when I hear about loss of lives because of delays to reach to the nearest hospital. I think this donation will fill the gap and help contain such senseless deaths,” she said.

Since she launched her parliamentary bid two years ago, Abida Mia has demonstrated to her constituency how development conscious she is. 5YV
